Small Claims

CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE WAUKESHA COUNTY SMALL CLAIMS PROCESS

PLEASE REVIEW:

LOCAL RULE 6.2 - REQUIRES DEFENDANTS TO FILE A WRITTEN ANSWER WITH THE COURT ON OR BEFORE THE RETURN DATE.

LOCAL RULE 6.4 - DIRECTS PARTIES TO UTILIZE MEDIATION RESOLUTIONS OR A MEDIATOR DESIGNATED BY THE COURT IF PARTIES CANNOT MUTALLY AGREE UPON A MEDIATOR.

Small Claims Court is a specialized branch of Civil Court designed to resolve disputes more quickly, affordably, and with simplified procedures. The process is less formal, making it easier to navigate. For more information on Small Claims cases, we recommend reviewing the Basic Guide to Wisconsin Small Claims Actions and the Civil Court Local Rules.
