Corporation Counsel
Statement of Purpose
The Office of Corporation Counsel provides legal services to Waukesha County, its elected officials and departments. Corporation Counsel represents Waukesha County in all civil litigation and administrative proceedings in which the county is a party. In addition, Corporation Counsel is responsible for the prosecution of mental health commitments, the establishment of guardianships and protective placements, and the representation of the public in cases involving children and juveniles in need of protection or services as well as the termination of parental rights. The Child Support Division of Corporation Counsel establishes paternity and enforces child support obligations on behalf of the State of Wisconsin. The Office of Corporation Counsel does not provide legal services to members of the general public.
