CHIP

Waukesha County Public Health develops a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) every five years to enhance the community's health. The CHIP Steering Committee, consisting of a diverse group of Health and Human Services employees and community members from various sectors such as healthcare, government, nonprofits, businesses, education, and faith-based organizations, drives this initiative.

The CHIP process actively engages community members who collect and analyze health data. This data forms the basis for informed decision-making, prioritizing health issues, and crafting actionable plans aimed at boosting community health outcomes.

CHIP Vision: Waukesha County is an inclusive and well-connected community supporting all people, embracing diversity, ensuring equitable access to services, and creating social, physical, and economic environments that promote health, well-being and quality of life.

The strategic health priorities for the 2022 - 2026 cycle are:

  • Mental Health
  • Substance Use
  • Healthy Aging
