Infant, Children & Teen Immunizations:

All recommended childhood immunizations are offered through the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC). If necessary, fees may be waived.

If your child is insured, please make an appointment with your primary care provider for vaccinations.

  • If your child is eligible for Vaccines for Children (VFC), you can visit the Public Health Division for vaccinations.
  • A parent or legal guardian must be present during the appointment for children under the age of 18.  
  • ELIGIBILITY: Children through 18 years of age are eligible if they are Medicaid eligible or enrolled, uninsured, American Indian or Alaska Native or underinsured (insurance does not cover vaccines- please contact your insurance provider to verify if vaccines are covered).

Travel Clinic Services (for Adults & Children)* 

Getting vaccinated will help keep you safe and healthy while you're traveling. It will also help to ensure you don't bring home any serious diseases to your family, friends & community.  

  • $75 Clinic Fee (Cash, charge or check accepted, insurance doesn't cover this)
  • You do NOT have to be a Waukesha County resident to receive services
  • Anti-Malaria prescriptions provided based on nurse assessmentIt is best for travelers to schedule an appointment 6-8 weeks in advance to allow for scheduling & adequate immunization protection
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time for check-in and registration

Immunization Guidelines

  • Medicaid/Medicare can be billed for covered immunizations. Check with your insurance provider for coverage questions. 
  • If you have no insurance, you may quality for our Vaccines for Adults (VFA) program at no cost, inquire within. 
  • Fees for immunizations may not be waived

Wisconsin Immunization Law
The Waukesha County Public Health Division provides information to assist schools in meeting the requirements of the Wisconsin Student Immunization Law (Chapter 252, Wis. Stats. and DHS 144 Wis. Admin Code). The information supplements the directions found in the Wisconsin School Immunization Requirements booklet available on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health website:

The School Report to Local Health Departments will be submitted electronically. This year we will continue to utilize an online process for schools to report to the local health departments and the state.

Flu Vaccination: Your First Line of Defense

  • Universal Recommendation: Everyone should get a flu vaccine every year. This applies to both children and adults.
  • Easy Access: Flu shots are available for all age groups at the Public Health Immunization Clinic and other healthcare providers.

For Infants, Children, & Teens

  • CDC Guidelines: Children aged 6 months to 18 years should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

  • If Your Child is Insured, schedule with your child's primary care provider. 

  • Children up to 18 years can qualify for the VFC (Vaccines for Children) program if they are:

    • Medicaid eligible or enrolled
    • Uninsured
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Underinsured (check with your insurance to confirm vaccine coverage)
  • VFC Program Benefits:

    • Offers all recommended childhood immunizations.
    • Please bring any immunization records you have.
    • A parent or legal guardian must accompany children under 18 to their appointment.

For Adults

  • CDC Recommendation: All adults should receive a flu vaccine annually. 

  • Is it a COLD or the FLU?

  • Insurance Information:

    • Medicaid/Medicare covers certain immunizations.
    • Confirm coverage details with your insurance provider.
