Courthouse Wedding Milestone

Monday, April 14, 2025, Waukesha County Court Commissioner Christopher Bailey and a couple from Milwaukee had much to celebrate. This couple saying "I do" at the Courthouse, marked the 1,000th wedding Commissioner Bailey has officiated since 2021 when he was sworn in. Bailey says one thing he's learned is that love brings everyone together. Bailey officiates weddings just about every day, sometimes as many as a dozen especially on days like Valentine's Day, a popular anniversary date. The rise in weddings in Waukesha County is due in part because Milwaukee County put a pause on courthouse weddings after the pandemic.
