Electronics Disposal Options

It is illegal to throw away certain electronics in Wisconsin. Some electronics can be reused through recycling, while others can be harmful if not properly disposed of.  Below find some e-waste recycling options:

Rechargeable Batteries (Li-ion, Ni-Cd, etc.) 

All types of batteries used in camcorders, printers, PDAs, power tools, cell phones and other small electronics can be recycled.

Lead acid batteries are prohibited in landfills or incinerators. All vehicle battery retailers accept used lead-acid batteries at no charge from anyone purchasing a battery.

Disposal Sites:

Wear safety goggles and gloves when you pick up a battery and carry it in a wooden box or a leak-proof container.  If you drop a battery, neutralize any spilled acid with baking soda or lime. 

Consider donating items to local second hand stores.
