The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department provides the Town of Delafield with 40hrs a week of 2nd shift coverage. The Sheriff’s Department is responsible for protecting persons and property as well as providing a safe working and living environment for the residents and visitors of the Town of Delafield.
Law Enforcement Services
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is the largest law enforcement agency in Waukesha County, the third largest Sheriff's Department in the State of Wisconsin. The Sheriff's Department has 170 uniformed professionals working 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the citizens of Waukesha County.
The Patrol Division, which is the backbone of the Department, provides a safe and secure environment for residents, businesses and visitors to Waukesha County. To ensure efficient utilization of resources, coverage is divided into five primary patrol areas: central, northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest. Also, contractual law enforcement services are provided to several jurisdictions within Waukesha County to include the Town of Delafield, Village of Lisbon, Village of Merton, City of Pewaukee, Village of Sussex, Village of Vernon and Village of Waukesha. Coverage also includes interstate I-94 and I-43.
Contract Service Areas
Oversized / Overweight Load Escorts
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Patrol Division also provides marked squad car escorts for oversized/overweight loads transported through Waukesha County. The escorts are done by uniformed deputy sheriffs on overtime and billed to the requester, so as not to deplete the normal patrol divisions.
If you wish to arrange an escort, you must contact the Patrol Division between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday at 262-548-7124 a minimum of twenty-four hours prior to the escort.
It is the citizen's responsibility to obtain all permits, permissions and approved routes from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, local authorities and utilities. Permits should be secured prior to making arrangements for the escort.
