District 21 - Joel R. Gaughan

Joel Gaughan grew up in Wauwatosa before settling in New Berlin in 1990. He earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and furthered his education with a master's degree in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Joel's professional career reflects his expertise in economics. He began his career at Wisconsin Gas Company, providing statistical and modeling support from 1986 to 1989. He subsequently transitioned to Wisconsin Electric, where he held a key role in sales and revenue forecasting for three decades.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Joel is actively involved in his community. He is a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in New Berlin and a longstanding member of SOPHIA, where he previously served as President and Vice-President.

Joel's commitment to public service is evident in his service on numerous county committees, including the HHS Board, ADRC Board, CDBG Board, CJCC Alternative Interventions Committee, CHIPP Steering Committee, New Berlin Senior Taxi Board, and the Healthy Aging Task Force.

Joel and his wife are the proud parents of two daughters, Erin and Bridget. In his leisure time, Joel enjoys golfing, participating in fantasy baseball leagues, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams, including the Badgers, Packers, Bucks, Brewers, Golden Eagles, and Panthers.
