This information is intended solely for reference purposes. No warranties, either expressed or implied, are provided regarding the information, its use, or interpretation. The County does not guarantee the accuracy of the material contained herein and is not responsible for any misuse or misrepresentation of this information or its derivatives. Users expressly agree that using the County website is at their sole risk. The County does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or free of error.

B.    County staff provide information for the County website. While efforts are made to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date, there is no guaranty that it is entirely current. C.    References on the County website to specific commercial products, processes, or services by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise do not constitute or imply endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by the County.

D.    The laws of the State of Wisconsin shall apply to all uses of this data and the County’s website. By use of the County website and any data contained therein, the user agrees that use shall conform to all applicable laws and regulations.

E.    The materials provided here are intended for noncommercial public use, with adherence to the fair use guidelines under U.S. copyright laws applying to all materials on the County’s website. The County retains exclusive ownership of all rights, title, and interests in any specifically copyrighted content created and published within the County’s website. Photographs and graphics on the County’s website are owned by the County and the respective County Department that holds the licensing rights for use and display.

Links from the County’s Website

The purpose of the County’s website is to provide citizens, businesses, and visitors with a wide range of information about the County.  To support this public purpose, the website includes links to external websites aligned with this goal. The County has no control over the format, content, or accuracy of any information found on websites outside of its domain (specifically, websites not a part of “waukeshacounty.gov").  The County does not endorse and is not responsible for the accuracy of information on external websites. 

A request for an external link on the County’s website must be made to and approved by the County’s webmaster via email at webmaster@waukeshacounty.gov. If a request is denied, the requester may appeal to the County’s Public Information Officer at pio@waukeshacounty.gov, which will review the merits of the request to determine if it aligns with the County’s website purpose.  

The County reserves the right to determine how and where external links will appear on its website, including which page the link appears on and where the link is placed on the page.

The County's website may provide links to websites for:

1. Governmental and educational institutions
2. Organizations funded or created by the County
3. Nonprofit neighborhood associations within the County
4. Non-partisan websites that promote informed and active participation of County residents in government
5. Organizations that provide the public with information or access to the arts, humanities, culture, or education
6. Nonprofit organizations providing employment, health, and other services to County residents
7. Non-profit Waukesha County business development organizations
8. Web guides featuring information about Waukesha County hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and similar businesses
9. Local and regional media websites
10. Organizations partnering with the County to meet the County's strategic or operational goals

The County's website will not provide links to websites for:

1. Candidates for local, state, or federal offices
2. Political organizations or other entities advocating a position on a local, state, or federal issue
3. Corporate or other for-profit organizations unless they fit any of the criteria above
4. Individual or personal home page.

B.    Linking to the Waukesha County Website

Links to the County's website are permissible and encouraged. Requests shall direct users to the home page (https://www.waukeshacounty.gov) rather than specific internal pages, as those links may change periodically.

The County respects the privacy of all users who visit this website. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) sets forth how we will use the information we obtain as you navigate through the website.

1. Within the County, and with third party affiliates for the uses described above.

3. When the County believes in good faith that sharing data is essential to safeguard its rights, ensure your safety and the safety of others, investigate fraud, or comply with law enforcement requests.

   Apart from the reasons provided above, the County will not disclose your information to other external parties for their own use without your consent, unless it is mandated by Data Privacy Laws. 

The County has the right to modify this Policy at its discretion and at any time. It will post any changes to this policy on this page. The effective date of the Policy can be found in the subtitle of this page.

Resources that are free and publicly available one day may require a fee or restricted access the next and the location of items may change as the County’s website is reorganized. The user expressly agrees that use of the County's website is at the user's sole risk. The County website’s content and related graphics could contain technical inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically added to the information on the County’s website. The County may make improvements and changes to the information and programs described on the County’s website at any time.
