- Requirements: Hazardous waste must be disposed of safely through proper channels. Waukesha County manages a program for all County residents. Businesses and municipalities must also safely dispose of their hazardous waste at their own cost. (link to business page).

Recycling Ordinance
The Waukesha County Recycling Ordinance requires the administration of an effective recycling program for all cities, towns, and villages in Waukesha County for which Waukesha County is the Responsible Unit.

Electronics and Appliances
Waukesha County is no longer hosting Electronic and Appliance disposal events. If you are interested in hosting an event for your municipality, please see our Guidance Fact Sheet.
If your municipality is already hosting an event, we encourage you to complete the Municipal Electronic and Appliance Event Form.

Wisconsin state law requires all events and gatherings to provide recycling.
